Azerbaijan’s COP29 Delegation Actively Engages in UNEA-6
Baku, The Gulf Observer: The delegation representing the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) is actively participating in the sixth session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-6), as reported by Azerbaijani media.
During the ongoing UNEA-6 session, the COP29 delegation seized the opportunity to present Azerbaijan’s inclusive approach to climate action and affirmed its commitment to collaborative efforts with all stakeholders at COP29. A statement released by the delegation emphasized the importance of setting higher ambitions within the framework of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) to effectively address global climate challenges.
The sixth session of the UN Environment Assembly, taking place from February 26 to March 1, 2024, at the headquarters of the UN Environment Program in Nairobi, Kenya, serves as a crucial platform for global leaders, environmentalists, and policymakers to discuss and shape the international environmental agenda.
