Azerbaijan’s Defense Minister Welcomes New Turkish Military Attaché
Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan’s Defense Minister, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, held a meeting on Thursday with the newly-appointed Turkish military attaché, Major General Gaffar Gören. The meeting, which took place at the Ministry of Defense, was announced in a statement by the Ministry, NHC reported.
Minister Hasanov warmly welcomed Major General Gören and extended his congratulations on the new appointment to Azerbaijan. He underscored the deep, sincere relations between the leadership of both fraternal nations, noting the significant impact these ties have on military cooperation. The minister emphasized that Azerbaijani-Turkish relations are built on a foundation of friendship, brotherhood, and a strategic alliance.
Minister Hasanov expressed his best wishes for Major General Gören’s future work in advancing military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye.
In response, Major General Gören expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and hospitality. He voiced his enthusiasm for his new role as military attaché and affirmed his commitment to strengthening military cooperation between the two nations.
The meeting was also attended by Major General Soner Oruçoğlu, the outgoing Turkish military attaché, who completed his duties in Azerbaijan. During the discussions, both sides exchanged views on new perspectives for cooperation in military, military-technical, and military-educational fields, and addressed several issues of mutual interest.
