Azerbaijan’s stand opens at International Museum of Handicrafts in Kokand
Kokand, The Gulf Observer: The International Museum of Handicrafts recently opened as part of the International Festival of Handicrafts in Kokand.
According to the project of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev in Uzbekistan, a permanent stand dedicated to Azerbaijani crafts was opened in the museum.
The event was attended by the leadership of Fergana region, the Hokim of Kokand, representatives of the public and intellectuals, students and journalists.
Hokim of Kokand Maruf Usmanov spoke about the high level of relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan and the ties that have been rapidly developing in recent years.
It is noteworthy that the museum contains works of famous masters from different countries of the world, such as China, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, and India. Now, exhibits related to Azerbaijani craft will be constantly on display.
Director of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center Samir Abbasov spoke about the successful development of cooperation between the two countries and the work carried out towards expanding cultural ties. He noted that the exhibition of interesting Azerbaijani exhibits will create conditions for widespread promotion of national culture among millions of tourists and participants in the traditionally held festival who visit this city annually.
The diplomat noted that two cities of Fergana region – Kokand and Rishtan, as well as the cities of Azerbaijan Sheki and Ismailly became sister cities.
The stand displays national carpets, works related to the art of embroidery, and handicrafts made with wood carvings.
