Bahrain's Foreign Minister Holds Talks with UK's Foreign Secretary David Lammy

Manama, The Gulf Observer: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Bahrain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, received a telephone call from Rt Hon David Lammy, Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom.

During the call, Dr. Al Zayani extended his congratulations to Secretary Lammy on his recent appointment and wished him success in his new role. The minister expressed his eagerness to meet with Secretary Lammy to discuss ways to further strengthen the longstanding relations between Bahrain and the United Kingdom.

The two officials highlighted the historic cooperation between Bahrain and the UK, particularly within the framework of their strategic dialogue. They also discussed opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation across various sectors.

In addition to bilateral relations, Dr. Al Zayani and Secretary Lammy emphasized the importance of ongoing Arab and international efforts to achieve a ceasefire, protect civilians in accordance with international law, facilitate humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people, secure the release of hostages and detainees, and mitigate tensions to uphold regional security and stability.

The conversation also included discussions on the revival of the peace process aimed at finding a political solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to the two-state solution as the basis for lasting peace in the region.
