Bahrain’s NIHR receives US Congress delegation
Manama, The Gulf Observer: Bahrain’s National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) received a delegation from the staff of the US Congress.
NIHR President Ali Ahmed Al Derazi briefed the delegation on institution’s role in dealing with the human rights situation in the Kingdom, in accordance with its terms of reference, as well as about its advisory role in submitting recommendations related to human rights.
He stressed the importance of such visits in providing an opportunity to collect first-hand information about the progress currently witnessed by the kingdom, through the promotion of rights and freedoms for all citizens and residents.
