Bakhtiyor Saidov approved as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan
Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: In accordance with a relevant decree of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Bakhtiyor Saidov has been approved as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
Earlier, the candidacy of Saidov was approved by the deputies of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis.
Bakhtiyor Saidov is a graduate of the Tashkent State University of Economics, as well as the Institute of the World Trade Organization (Switzerland).
In 2009-2013, he worked as a trade and economic consultant at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Korea. He has the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
In 2017-2021, Saidov worked as the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to China, simultaneously heading the diplomatic missions of the country in Mongolia and the Philippines.
He has held various senior positions in Uzbekistan, including in the Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade, as well as in the Uzbekyengilsanoat association. He worked as the Minister of Public Education of Uzbekistan.
Bakhtiyor Saidov was appointed Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs on December 30, 2022.
