Belgrade welcomes release of Kazakh Fairy Tales in Serbian
Belgrade, The Gulf Observer: In an effort to foster and promote the rich cultural heritage of Kazakhstan, the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Belgrade, Serbia has undertaken a noteworthy initiative. With a commitment to cross-cultural exchange, the Embassy has meticulously curated and published a collection of Kazakh fairy tales in the Serbian language according to the press service of the Kazakh MFA.
This endeavor serves as a testament to the diplomatic and cultural bonds between Kazakhstan and Serbia, transcending linguistic barriers to share the enchanting narratives that encapsulate the folklore and traditions of Kazakhstan. This newly released collection extends an invitation to young Serbian readers and their parents to embark on a captivating journey through the cherished tales of Kazakh folklore. Within these pages, legends featuring the graceful swallow, compelling animal disputes, mythical narratives surrounding the venerable old man Kanbak, and the mischievous antics of Aldar Kose come to life. The compilation showcases the diverse and imaginative world of Kazakh fairy tales, offering a delightful blend of cultural richness and timeless storytelling. On the eve of New Year’s Day, the unveiling of this remarkable book occurred at the Children’s Library in Belgrade. Ambassador Madi Atamkulov, representing Kazakhstan in Serbia, introduced the book, captivating young minds with engaging insights into the country’s culture and heritage. Amidst this enriching event, Ambassador Atamkulov shared intriguing facts about Kazakhstan while generously presenting valuable gifts to the children, fostering both cultural understanding and literary appreciation in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
At the Children’s Library, the dedicated staff orchestrated an engaging and interactive quiz centered around the rich history and vibrant culture of Kazakhstan. Complementing this insightful session, the staff also immersed the audience in the enchanting world of Kazakh folklore by reading several captivating tales. As part of an expansive outreach effort, hundreds of copies from the collection of Kazakh fairy tales are set to be distributed to libraries and schools across Serbia. This concerted endeavor aims to not only disseminate cultural treasures but also to inspire a deeper appreciation and understanding of Kazakhstan’s heritage among young minds throughout the country.
