Kuala Lumpur, The Gulf Observer: President of the Law Society of Brunei Darussalam, Haji Muhammad Zainidi bin Haji Abdul Hamid, actively participated in the ASEAN Bar Leaders’ Summit 2025 held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from July 22 to 23. The high-level summit brought together 37 prominent representatives from across the ASEAN legal community to discuss strategies for enhancing cross-border legal collaboration.

The two-day event served as a platform to engage in meaningful dialogues surrounding current legal challenges, emerging trends, and institutional reforms across the region. It provided an invaluable opportunity to deepen friendships, expand professional networks, and share innovative ideas aimed at building a cohesive and resilient ASEAN legal framework.

Among the collaborative initiatives discussed were regional sports events, legal exchange programmes, and knowledge-sharing projects that promote legal excellence and unity across member nations.

A key highlight of the summit was the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Law Society of Singapore and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines — a significant move toward fostering regional partnerships and institutional synergy.
