Bukhara Sees Surge in Tourism Due to Heritage and Enhanced Services

Bukhara, The Gulf Observer: The ancient city of Bukhara, known for its rich cultural heritage, national handicrafts, and historical architectural monuments, has witnessed a significant increase in tourism due to improvements in services offered across the region. The recent efforts have attracted more visitors, further cementing Bukhara’s status as a premier destination for both international and domestic travelers.

Currently, the region boasts 50 tourist accommodation zones, comprising 12 hotels, 9 hostels, and 29 family guest houses, providing a wide range of options for visitors. In addition, 29 new tour operators have been established, bringing the total number of operators in the region to 172, up from 143 in 2023.

Since the beginning of this year, over 880,000 foreign tourists have visited Bukhara, generating a tourism export revenue of $220.1 million. The city also welcomed 2.8 million local visitors from various regions of Uzbekistan, drawn by Bukhara’s historic appeal and the enhanced quality of tourism services.

Bukhara’s commitment to improving its tourism infrastructure and services continues to drive growth in the sector, reinforcing the city’s position as a vibrant cultural and historical hub.
