China, Indonesia To Hold First Senior Officials’ 2+2 Dialogue

Beijing, The Gulf Observer: A high-level delegation from China, led by Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Sun Weidong and Deputy Director of the Office for International Military Cooperation of the Central Military Commission Zhang Baoqun, has arrived in Jakarta, Indonesia. The delegation is set to participate in the inaugural Senior Officials’ Meeting of the China-Indonesia Joint Foreign and Defense Ministerial Dialogue on Monday, as announced by the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
This dialogue, which marks the first 2+2 ministerial framework established by China with another country, was officially launched in 2023. The meeting in Jakarta represents a significant step in deepening the strategic partnership between China and Indonesia.
During the meeting, both sides are expected to engage in extensive discussions on bilateral relations and key international and regional issues of shared concern. The dialogue underscores the commitment of both nations to enhancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest, reflecting the growing importance of their strategic partnership in the region.
