China Issues New Guidelines for Coordinated Digital and Green Transformation
Beijing, The Gulf Observer: The Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission, along with nine central departments, has released new guidelines to accelerate China’s coordinated transformation toward digital development and green growth. Published on Saturday, these guidelines aim to integrate emerging technologies with green, low-carbon industries and enhance traditional sectors through digital and green innovations.
The guidelines focus on two main areas: promoting the green, low-carbon development of digital industries and accelerating the green transformation of various sectors using digital technology. They emphasize the need for a synergistic approach to advance both digital development and environmental sustainability.
Key principles outlined in the guidelines include the roles of authorities, industry associations, universities, research institutes, and businesses in driving this dual transformation. The guidelines provide a three-part framework covering the foundational capacity, technological systems, and industrial systems necessary for integrating digital and green initiatives.
Regions across China are encouraged to focus on high-quality development, harness local resources, and develop specialized industries to create functional advantages. This approach is expected to accelerate the coordinated digital and green development, contributing to China’s broader goals of sustainability and technological innovation.
