China, Myanmar Highlight Corporate Social Responsibility and Human Resource Development

Yangon, The Gulf Observer: The opening ceremony of the 2025 Report on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of Chinese Enterprises in Myanmar and the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China (MOFCOM) Scholarship Award Ceremony was held yesterday evening at the M-Gallery Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw.

Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Ms. Ma Jia commended the Chinese Enterprises Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar (CECCM) for releasing the 2025 CSR report, noting that it demonstrates the positive role Chinese businesses are playing in the country.

Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr. Wah Wah Maung welcomed the report, stating that CSR initiatives reflect the strength of China-Myanmar cooperation, provide valuable support to local communities, and contribute to Myanmar’s broader development.

CECCM Chairman Mr. Liu Ming presented the findings of the CSR report, while U Aye Win, President of the Federation of the Union of Myanmar Chambers of Commerce and Industry, expressed gratitude to Chinese enterprises for their contributions to local livelihoods.

As part of the ceremony, the CECCM Chairman handed over project documents for the Shweminwon New Market Project in Sagaing to Sagaing Region Minister for Transport U Khin Maung Aye.

The event also included the MOFCOM Scholarship Award Ceremony, which supports Myanmar’s human resource development. Ambassador Ma Jia highlighted the importance of the scholarships in strengthening educational and professional ties between the two nations.

Union Minister Dr. Wah Wah Maung praised the scholarships as a key contribution to capacity-building within Myanmar’s civil service, stressing their role in enhancing public services and national development. She encouraged scholarship recipients to use their education in China to serve as loyal and capable human resources for the country.

The Union Minister, along with Ambassador Ma Jia and the Chinese Embassy’s Economic Attaché, later presented admission letters from Chinese universities to the officers and employees selected for the scholarship program.
