China Reaffirms Commitment to Global Peace, Unity, and Development in 2025

Beijing, The Gulf Observer: China’s diplomacy will continue to champion peace, development, cooperation, and mutual benefit while striving to promote world peace, stability, and the common progress of humanity in the year ahead, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Tuesday.

Wang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the pledge during a symposium on the international situation and China’s foreign relations in 2024.

He noted that 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the global anti-fascist war, as well as the founding of the United Nations. Wang emphasized that humanity’s historical trajectory is once again approaching a critical juncture.

In addressing global challenges, Wang highlighted China’s unwavering positions:

  • On turbulence and conflicts: China will remain a firm force for peace.
  • On risks of division and confrontation: China will be a steadfast force for unity.
  • On decoupling and disruption of industrial and supply chains: China will serve as a force for openness.
  • On unilateralism and bullying: China will act as a resolute force for justice.
  • On ideological differences: China will promote inclusiveness and mutual understanding.

Wang’s statements underscored China’s commitment to fostering multilateral cooperation, addressing global concerns, and strengthening international solidarity as the world navigates a period of heightened uncertainty and change.
