China willing to plan high-level exchanges with Indonesia: FM Qin Gang

Beijing, The Gulf Observer: China is willing to plan high-level exchanges with Indonesia and make top-level designs for the next stage of building a community with a shared future between China and Indonesia, Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang said in Beijing on Wednesday.

Qin made the remarks when meeting with Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Indonesia’s Coordinator for Cooperation with China and Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investment.

Against the backdrop of the changing international landscape, maintaining a high degree of continuity and stability in China’s domestic and foreign policies will inject strong certainty and positive energy for regional and world peace, Qin said.

Noting that the interests of China and ASEAN countries are closely intertwined, Qin hoped Indonesia, as the rotating chair of ASEAN this year, could give full play to its advantages and promote greater solidarity and cooperation among regional countries.

China is ready to work with Indonesia to maintain the centrality of ASEAN, lead East Asia cooperation in the right direction, and guard regional peace and prosperity, he added.

For Luhut’s part, he said that Indonesia is willing to work with China to build an Indonesia-China community with a shared future for mankind, join hands to promote South-South cooperation and safeguard the common interests of developing countries.
