China's Top Legislator Meets with South Korean Parliamentarian Delegation in Beijing

Beijing, The Gulf Observer: Zhao Leji, Chairman of the National People’s Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, held a meeting on Thursday with a delegation led by Kim Tae-nyeon, President of the Republic of Korea (ROK)-China Parliamentarians’ Union. The meeting in Beijing highlighted the continued commitment of both nations to advancing bilateral ties.

During the meeting, Zhao emphasized the importance of the sound and steady development of China-ROK relations, noting that such progress aligns with the common interests of both countries and contributes to regional peace, stability, development, and prosperity. He stressed the need for both sides to adhere to principles of good neighborliness and friendship, in line with the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries.

Zhao called for stronger cooperation between China and the ROK, particularly in ensuring mutual benefit and win-win outcomes. He encouraged both nations to work together to maintain the stability and smooth operation of industrial and supply chains, promote people-to-people exchanges, and engage in activities that enhance bilateral friendship. This, he said, would lay the foundation for the long-term development of China-ROK relations.

“The NPC of China is ready to continue fostering dialogue and exchanges with the ROK National Assembly to further promote bilateral relations,” Zhao remarked.

Kim Tae-nyeon expressed the ROK’s commitment to strengthening ties with China and congratulated the NPC on its 70th anniversary. He reaffirmed the ROK-China Parliamentarians’ Union’s dedication to advancing ROK-China relations through closer legislative cooperation and enhancing people-to-people exchanges.

Both sides expressed their intent to deepen cooperation and maintain strong bilateral relations in the years ahead.
