Chinese Airline commences scheduled flights to Kazakhstan
Astana, The Gulf Observer: As of January 25, 2024, China Southern Airlines has finalized plans to initiate regular passenger flights along the Almaty-Beijing route. This strategic expansion aims to bolster connectivity between the two prominent cities, offering travelers consistent and reliable air transport services. The introduction of these scheduled flights signifies a concerted effort by China Southern Airlines to enhance accessibility and facilitate seamless travel for passengers commuting between Almaty and Beijing, catering to the growing demand for efficient air travel options between these pivotal locations, according to the reports of KGA.
The airline has a fleet of more than 650 aircraft (A319/320/321/330/350, B737/777/787, ARJ21, C919) and operates flights to more than 230 cities in China and around the world. Flights will be operated from the new Beijing Daxing International Airport with a frequency of 3 flights per week (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) on Airbus-A320 aircraft, the statement says.
Beijing Daxing International Airport is one of the largest airports in the world, located in the capital of China, Beijing Daxing District. Beijing city center is 46 km away. Opened September 25, 2019. The airport has 4 runways.
In 2022, the airport’s capacity was 45 million passengers per year. By 2025, it is planned to increase the capacity to 72 million passengers, and in the future to 100 million passengers per year.
