Chinese Premier Highlights China-Australia Cooperation
Adelaide, The Gulf Observer: Chinese Premier Li Qiang emphasized the enduring value of cooperation between China and Australia, stating that such collaboration can “cross the vast Pacific Ocean, transcend differences, and achieve mutual achievements and win-win results.” Premier Li made these remarks during his visit to the Adelaide Zoo, a significant site for China-Australia cooperation in panda protection and research.
During the tour, Premier Li noted that the Adelaide Zoo is home to Wang Wang and Fu Ni, the Southern Hemisphere’s only pair of giant pandas. He highlighted that despite being far from their native China, the pandas have been well cared for and have settled happily in Australia since their arrival in 2009. As part of the agreement between China and Australia, Wang Wang and Fu Ni are scheduled to return to China later this year.
Premier Li lauded the pandas as ambassadors of China-Australia relations, symbolizing the deep friendship between the two nations. He expressed China’s readiness to continue cooperating with Australia on panda protection and research, expressing hope that Australia will always remain a friendly home for giant pandas.
Furthermore, Premier Li underscored that China’s achievements in giant panda protection reflect the country’s positive contributions to preserving global biodiversity and endangered species. He reiterated China’s commitment to working with international partners like Australia to advance these important conservation efforts.
The Adelaide Zoo’s giant pandas have not only become a major attraction but also a testament to the fruitful and friendly relations between China and Australia. This visit by Premier Li underscores the importance of ongoing collaboration in areas of mutual interest and the shared commitment to environmental conservation.
