Chinese take women's, mixed doubles titles at 2023 Malaysia Open

Kuala Lulumpur, The Gulf Observer: Chinese shuttlers took the women’s doubles and mixed doubles titles at the 2023 Malaysia Open on Sunday.

Women’s doubles pair Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan outmatched South Korea’s Baek Ha-na and Lee Yu-lim 21-16, 21-10 to clinch the title.

Mixed doubles duo Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong defeated Japan’s Yuta Watanabe and Arisa Higashino 21-19, 21-11 to defend their title.

In the men’s doubles final, China’s Liang Weikeng and Wang Chang lost to Indonesia’s Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto 21-18, 18-21, 21-13.

In the singles’ competition, Viktor Axelsen of Denmark delivered a crushing 21-6, 21-15 defeat to Japan’s Kodai Naraoka to win the men’s title, and Akane Yamaguchi of Japan defeated South Korea’s An Se-young 12-21, 21-19, 21-11 to win the women’s.
