Chinese VP Han Zheng to Attend Prabowo’s Inauguration in Indonesia and Visit Brunei

Beijing, The Gulf Observer: Chinese Vice President Han Zheng will attend the inauguration of Indonesia’s President-elect Prabowo Subianto on October 20, 2024, as the special representative of President Xi Jinping, at the invitation of the Indonesian government. Han’s visit to Indonesia will take place from October 19 to 21, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning announced on Friday.

During his visit, Vice President Han will represent China at the high-profile inauguration ceremony in Jakarta and engage in discussions aimed at strengthening the bilateral relationship between China and Indonesia.

Following his visit to Indonesia, Han Zheng will travel to Brunei from October 21 to 23, at the invitation of the Brunei government, Mao Ning confirmed.

These visits underscore China’s commitment to deepening ties with Southeast Asian nations and fostering cooperation in key areas of mutual interest.
