Compost Countdown: Going Green in New Year
Peshawar, The Gulf Observer: Fostering Female Empowerment,’ is a holistic and empowering approach that recognizes the pivotal role of women in driving positive change. This initiative aims to cultivate a culture of sustainability by empowering women to take leadership roles in waste management practices. Through education, training, and community engagement, #CompostClub SBBWUP seek to harness the potential of female leaders, creating a more resilient and environmentally conscious society. By fostering female empowerment, we not only contribute to sustainable waste practices but also pave the way for a more inclusive and equitable future.
The Compost Club which operates under the Climate Cell of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Peshawar had arranged an awareness walk on January 4, 2024, as part of ‘Sustainable Campus Operation’ initiative.
The goal was to reduce organic waster on the campus and motivate other academicians to embrace sustainability and recycling practices. Students from all departments of University had participated in the walk by preparing banners from waste materials like plastic and cardboards to display their interest.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Safia Ahmed (T.I), along with members of the Compost Club, actively participated in this walk. Guests lauded the sustainability efforts of members of Compost Club by highlighting their collective commitment for a greener future.
