HUMAIN

Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), announced on Monday the launch of HUMAIN, a new PIF-owned company dedicated to advancing artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities in Saudi Arabia and beyond.

Positioned as a unified AI entity, HUMAIN will invest across the full AI value chain, offering a comprehensive suite of services and solutions. These include the development of advanced AI models, multimodal Arabic large language models (LLMs), next-generation data centers, and robust cloud infrastructure to support widespread AI integration across key economic sectors.

Under the leadership of the Crown Prince, HUMAIN is expected to enhance human potential, stimulate digital innovation, and unlock new economic opportunities, supporting Saudi Arabia’s emergence as a global hub for the AI and digital economy.

The company will also play a pivotal role in fostering local innovation, accelerating the deployment of AI technologies in sectors such as energy, healthcare, manufacturing, and financial services, and supporting national data strategies.

The announcement aligns with PIF’s broader mandate to drive economic diversification, technological leadership, and global competitiveness in emerging sectors. It also follows Saudi Arabia’s top global ranking in the 2024 Global AI Index, which recognised the Kingdom as a world leader in AI development.

Saudi Arabia’s strategic geographic location, youthful demographic profile, and growing economic momentum offer a unique foundation for large-scale data processing and advanced AI research. HUMAIN is expected to attract international partnerships, top-tier talent, and high-impact investment, supporting the Kingdom’s aspirations to lead globally in data and AI.
