Czech-Funded High-Tech Medical Equipment Factory Inaugurated in Plovdiv

Plovdiv, The Gulf Observer: A state-of-the-art factory developed with Czech investment was officially inaugurated in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, representing one of the largest foreign investments from the Czech Republic in the country to date.

The opening ceremony was attended by Bulgarian President Rumen Radev and Czech Ambassador to Bulgaria Miroslav Toman, who both hailed the project as a landmark in bilateral cooperation and regional development.

The factory, backed by nearly 100 million leva in Czech investment, has been established by a global leader in the manufacturing and distribution of electronic medical equipment. The facility is designed not only for large-scale production but also integrates advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence and robotics.

Currently, the factory employs 700 highly skilled specialists, with projections indicating the creation of an additional 500 jobs as operations expand. The facility will specialize in the production of innovative devices for cardiology, physiotherapy, therapeutic treatments, and aesthetic medicine, contributing significantly to Bulgaria’s position in the global medical technology sector.

President Rumen Radev emphasized the strategic value of the project, describing it as a model for future economic development in Bulgaria. “This is more than just an efficient industrial facility—it is the direction we want our entire economy to take. An investment that brings innovation, high value-added production, and global market integration,” he stated.

Ambassador Miroslav Toman praised the initiative as a bridge between technological advancement and human expertise. He noted that the Czech investor’s choice to develop such a major project in Bulgaria reflects strong confidence in the country’s stable economic climate, skilled labor force, and growing stature as a high-tech manufacturing hub in the region.

The inauguration signals not only a deepening of Bulgaria–Czech Republic economic relations but also a shared commitment to advancing high-technology sectors that benefit both nations and the broader European economy.
