Czech Pole Vaulter Viktorie Ondrová Wins Gold at European U23 Championships in Norway

Bergen, The Gulf Observer: Czech athlete Viktorie Ondrová delivered a stellar performance at the European U23 Athletics Championships, clinching the gold medal in the women’s pole vault final. The 20-year-old talent from Prague’s Olymp club set a new personal best three times during the competition, ultimately clearing 4.45 metres to secure her first major international title.
Ondrová’s remarkable achievement marks the third medal for the Czech Republic at this year’s championships, following Karolína Maňasová’s gold in the sprints and Petra Sičaková’s silver in the javelin. With her latest jump, Ondrová improved her previous personal record by an impressive 13 centimetres and moved up to seventh place in the Czech all-time rankings for women’s pole vault.
In the men’s 10,000 metres race walk, Czech athlete Jaromír Morávek also put in a strong effort, finishing in sixth place.
The young Czech team’s success in Bergen reflects the growing depth and promise of the country’s emerging athletics talent.
