Dean of Al-Azhar Islamic Da’wah College commends Bahrain’s hosting of East and West Dialogue forum

Cairo, The Gulf Observer: The Dean of the Islamic Da’wah College at Al-Azhar University, Dr. Ahmed Hussain, praised Bahrain’s hosting of the East and West Dialogue on November 3 and 4.

The forum will convene under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, coinciding with the historic official visit of His Holiness Pope Francis to the Kingdom of Bahrain at the invitation of HM the King, with the participation of Al-Azhar Grand Imam, Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb.In a statement posted by Egyptian “Sada Al Balad” website, Dr. Ahmed Hussain affirmed that dialogue is a civilizational and basic value in Islam which preaches cooperation and knowing one another.

He commended the great and unprecedented efforts of HE Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb and His Holiness Pope Francis to promote dialogue and cooperation between people.Ahmed Hussein, as dean of the College of Islamic Da’wah, which includes a department specialised in the study of religions and sects, pointed out that the model presented by Imam Al-Tayeb and Pope Francis in the East and West Dialogue is an unprecedented effort to foster the values of dialogue and coexistence among human beings.
