Direct Flights Between Xi’an and Budapest Resume
Xi’an, The Gulf Observer: Direct flights between Xi’an, the capital of northwest China’s Shaanxi Province, and Budapest resumed on Saturday, marking a significant milestone in Sino-Hungarian relations.
Balazs Bogats, Chief Commercial Officer of Budapest Airport, praised the resumption of this air link. He highlighted Xi’an’s historical significance as the eastern starting point of the ancient Silk Road, noting that the direct flight offers Hungarian travelers and businessmen a unique opportunity to explore China’s rich heritage and economic potential.
Echoing Bogats’ sentiments, Boglarka Illes, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, emphasized the broader implications of this development. “This direct flight between Xi’an and Budapest is a testament to the dynamic development we have seen in tourism, economic exchanges, and cultural dialogues between our countries,” Illes stated.
Operated by China Eastern Airlines, the route reinstates a vital connection between the two cities. With this resumption, Budapest now boasts seven direct air routes with China, further enhancing the ties between the two nations.
The renewed direct flight service is expected to facilitate increased tourism, bolster economic cooperation, and promote cultural exchanges, strengthening the relationship between China and Hungary.
