Emir of Qatar to visit Uzbekistan

Doha, The Gulf Observer: Emir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani will visit Tashkent on 19 December on a working visit.

The Emir of Qatar will visit Tashkent at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and will take part in the ceremony of presenting the high International Prize in the fight against corruption.

This award, initiated by the Emir of Qatar in 2016, is awarded to outstanding public figures, experts and journalists for their contribution to combating corruption at the global level.

High-level negotiations are also planned during the visit, at which practical steps will be discussed to implement the agreements reached during the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Qatar in October of this year.

The main focus will be on politics, trade, economics, investment and cultural cooperation. There will also be an exchange of views on the international and regional agenda.
