Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: Emirates National Schools (ENS) recently took part in the prestigious Central Asian Universities Forum and Strategic Education Partners Meeting in Uzbekistan, underscoring the institution’s commitment to global best practices and innovative teaching methods. The forum, held under the patronage of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, attracted prominent educational institutions and strategic partners from across Central Asia.

Ahmad Al-Bastaki, Deputy Director-General of Emirates National Schools, highlighted the significance of the school’s involvement in such a high-profile event, emphasizing ENS’s leadership and influence in both regional and international education sectors. The invitation from the Uzbek Ministry of Education further reflected the strong relationships between ENS and Uzbekistan’s educational authorities, strengthened through numerous collaborative projects aimed at enhancing educational excellence.

In his address, Al-Bastaki expressed gratitude to the Uzbek government for its ongoing efforts to elevate education quality, noting that the collaboration between Emirates National Schools and Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Education began in 2023 with significant successes. Among the key milestones of this cooperation was a Memorandum of Understanding signed in March 2023, which facilitated the exchange of knowledge and expertise. Advanced teacher training programs were also conducted at ENS’s facilities in Abu Dhabi, exposing Uzbek educators to the latest teaching methods and technologies, particularly in artificial intelligence and digital education.

Al-Bastaki also discussed the success of the 2024 summer camp, which allowed 30 students from ENS to experience Uzbek culture and societal development in Tashkent. Further reinforcing these ties, ENS hosted a delegation of Uzbek students in Abu Dhabi in September 2024 for specialized training programs.

During his meeting with Uzbek Minister of Education Khilola Oktamovna on the sidelines of the forum, Al-Bastaki expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to participate in the event, presenting her with a commemorative plaque from Emirates National Schools. He also announced plans to establish a permanent summer camp for ENS students in Uzbekistan, aimed at fostering cultural exchange and furthering educational collaboration between the two nations.

This initiative, Al-Bastaki noted, demonstrates the school’s dedication to promoting educational excellence globally, reflecting the UAE’s wise leadership’s belief in education as an investment in the future. The participation of Emirates National Schools in this important forum solidifies its distinguished standing as a representative of the UAE’s forward-thinking education sector.
