Erdogan Praises Senegal’s Stance on Palestine Amid Rising Tensions in the Region
Ankara, The Gulf Observer: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has commended Senegal’s support for a two-state solution to the Palestinian issue, describing it as “extremely valuable” in a time of heightened regional tension. Speaking at a joint press conference with Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye on Thursday, Erdogan lauded Senegal’s firm position, highlighting the importance of African nations who “understand what oppression, war, and massacre mean” in standing against Israel’s policies.
“Imperialists have learned in Africa that a peaceful future cannot be built on blood and massacre,” Erdogan stated, expressing his hope that similar lessons will resonate in Gaza and Lebanon. He warned that escalating violence in Lebanon and Palestine is pushing the region toward a “serious firestorm” and cautioned that the coming period may prove even more tumultuous.
Erdogan called on the international community, particularly nations with a “sense of conscience,” to increase diplomatic pressure on Israel, emphasizing that a unified global response is crucial to address the humanitarian crisis and support peace efforts.
