Erdogan, Zelenskyy Discuss Peace Efforts and Bilateral Relations in Phone Call

Ankara, The Gulf Observer: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday held a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at Kyiv’s request, the Turkish Communications Directorate reported.
The discussion covered Türkiye-Ukraine bilateral relations, as well as key regional and global issues. President Erdogan commended the progress achieved in the ongoing direct talks between Ukraine and Russia in Istanbul, describing it as “valuable,” and expressed hope that the upcoming negotiation rounds would yield “meaningful results on the ceasefire,” marking a step toward lasting peace.
Erdogan reiterated Türkiye’s readiness to host a leaders-level summit to advance the peace process, noting that the creation of working groups in military, humanitarian, and political fields would help pave the way for such a meeting.
The Turkish leader also reaffirmed his country’s steadfast support for “Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” underscoring Ankara’s continued role as a key mediator in the conflict.
