EU High Representative Josep Borrell to Visit Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan
Brussels, The Gulf Observer: Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, will visit Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan from August 1 to 3, according to the European External Action Service (EEAS).
The visit underscores the EU’s commitment to bolstering ties with both nations and the wider Central Asian region amid challenging geopolitical circumstances.
The two-day tour commenced in Kazakhstan on August 1, where Borrell met with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu. A joint press conference was held at 14:20 (GMT+4), broadcast live on EbS. Borrell also met with Kazakhstan’s President, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, later that day.
On August 3, Borrell is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting in Kyrgyzstan with Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeenbek Kulubaev. Separate discussions with Minister of Emergency Situations Boobek Azhikeev are also planned.
This visit highlights the EU’s proactive engagement and ongoing efforts to enhance diplomatic and cooperative relations in Central Asia.
