FIDE World Rapid and Blitz Championships kick off in Samarkand

Samarkand, The Gulf Observer: The 6th FIDE World Rapid and Blitz Championships kicked off in Samarkand. The Chairman of Uzbekistan Chess Federation Alisher Sadullayev and the FIDE President Arkady Dvorkovich made the first move.

In the first round of the rapid competition, Uzbekistan’s Nodirbek Abdusattarov defeated Liam Vrolijk.
