First China-Europe Freight Train via Türkiye Departs from Hefei
Hefei, The Gulf Observer: The first China-Europe freight train passing through Türkiye departed from Hefei on Saturday, according to state-run media.
The train, bound for Istanbul, carries 110 containers loaded with household appliances and automotive parts, as reported by the Global Times.
China Railway recently announced that since the inception of the China-Europe freight train service in 2011, the number of trips has exceeded 90,000.
The inaugural train journey in 2011 departed from Tuanjiecun Station in Chongqing, southwest China, heading to Duisburg, Germany. Initially, one train made the journey each month, but now, over 10 trains depart daily, connecting more than 100 cities across Asia and Europe, as noted by Xinhua News Agency.
