First Group of Residents Relocated to Karkijahan Settlement in Khankendi

Khankendi, The Gulf Observer: The first group of residents was relocated to the Karkijahan settlement of Khankendi city on December 20, marking an important step in the resettlement process in the region.

According to official information, the group comprised 30 families, totaling 117 individuals, who were relocated as part of ongoing efforts to facilitate the return of residents and restore normal life in the area.

Elchin Yusubov, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the city of Khankendi and the Aghdara and Khojaly districts, addressed the key handover ceremony. In his remarks, he underscored the significance of the relocation initiative and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring sustainable living conditions, security, and social infrastructure for returning residents.

The relocation to the Karkijahan settlement is part of broader state programs aimed at reconstruction, rehabilitation, and socio-economic development, with a focus on improving living standards and supporting long-term stability in the region.
