Foreign Envoys Sign Book of Condolence for Late Pro Tem President of Myanmar

Yangon, The Gulf Observer: Ambassadors and Heads of Mission accredited to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar solemnly signed the Book of Condolence at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sagawah Street, in honour of the late Pro Tem President U Myint Swe, who passed away on August 7, 2025.

On this occasion, messages of sympathy and tribute were inscribed by Mr. Mogkol Visitstump, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand; Dr. Md Monwar Hossain, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh; Mr. Gustavo Rocha de Menezes, Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil; Mr. Mutaz Abdullah Abduljaleel Mohamed Al Faheem, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates; Ms. Ma Jia, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China; Mr. Cheng Manith, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Cambodia; Mr. Bounphieng Chanthavong, Ambassador of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic; Mrs. Ruth Zakh, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of Israel; Mr. Olandino Rui de Andrade, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste; and Fr. Hilary, representative of the Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Apostolic Nunciature (Embassy of the Holy See).

The diplomats were received by the Director-General of the Strategic Studies and Training Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with senior ministry officials.

Extending their deepest condolences, the envoys expressed heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family of the late Pro Tem President, as well as to the Government and people of Myanmar during this period of national mourning.
