Friendly Robots Delight Visitors at 43rd Sharjah International Book Fair

Sharjah, The Gulf Observer: Visitors at the 43rd Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) were treated to a unique experience on Friday, as two colorful, interactive robot mascots delighted attendees with their playful antics and engaging personalities. The friendly robots—one dressed in cool blues and the other in perky pink—are roaming the halls and lobbies of the fair, bringing smiles to faces young and old until the event concludes on November 17, 2024.

The robots, introduced for the first time by Bratislava-based Montiki Entertainment, are operated by Veronika Dokupilova, 40, and her mother, Jaroslava, 61. Over eight shows spanning the final days of the 12-day fair, they will continue to interact with fairgoers, offering memorable encounters and joyous moments.

“Our goal was to design robots that everyone would love—something cute and always smiling,” said Veronika Dokupilova. “We wanted them to bring joy, spread happiness, and create a warm, friendly atmosphere for everyone, young and old.”
