Fujairah and Egypt Sign Landmark MoU to Enhance Petroleum Sector Cooperation

Fujairah, The Gulf Observer: The emirate of Fujairah and the Egyptian government have signed a significant cooperation agreement in the form of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at advancing collaboration in the petroleum sector. The signing ceremony was held at the government headquarters in New Alamein City, with Egypt’s Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, and Karim Badawi, Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, in attendance.

The MoU is designed to leverage the integrated systems of the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone and apply this expertise to Egypt’s Al Hamra Petroleum Port on the Mediterranean coast, enhancing the port’s operational capacity and efficiency.

The agreement was signed by Mohammed Saeed Al Dhanhani, Director of the Fujairah Emiri Court, and Mahmoud Nagi, Deputy Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources for Transportation and Marketing.

Al Dhanhani highlighted the importance of this cooperation between the UAE and Egypt, emphasizing the value of building on the successes already achieved in the areas of petroleum storage, trading, and ship supply. He stressed that this MoU is a testament to the strong, fruitful cooperation between the two fraternal nations, guided by the directives of their wise leadership.

Al Dhanhani noted that the MoU was signed under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, and with the support of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah. The aim is to provide Egypt with the best capabilities and expertise that Fujairah has developed in the field of petroleum trade.

To ensure the effective implementation of the agreement, a joint Egypt-UAE team has been established to oversee the MoU’s execution and to address any challenges that may arise during its application.

This partnership marks a new chapter in UAE-Egypt relations, reflecting the deepening ties between the two countries and their shared commitment to advancing the petroleum industry.
