GCC Chief and Iraqi MPs Meet to Bolster Bilateral Ties

Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), held a meeting with a delegation from the Iraqi parliament headed by Shaikh Shaalan Abdul Jabbar Ali Al Karim. The delegation also included Karim Alaiwi, Jahoush Hasanein Al Khafaji, and Dr. Yaseen Al Aythawi.

During the meeting, Albudaiwi emphasized the robust relations between the GCC and Iraq and underscored the commitment to enhancing cooperation. He stressed the importance of maintaining Iraq’s stability, safeguarding the integrity and unity of its territory, ensuring its complete sovereignty, preserving its Arab identity, protecting its social fabric, and upholding its national unity.

Albudaiwi highlighted the statement issued by the Ministerial Council in its 160th session, reaffirming the council’s consistent positions and decisions regarding Iraq. He expressed support for all ongoing efforts to achieve security and stability in the country.

The meeting also covered various topics of common interest, and the parties exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments, aiming to further strengthen the collaboration between the GCC and Iraq.
