H.H. Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said to Inaugurate FIH Hockey5s World Cup Tomorrow

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: In a grand ceremony tomorrow, His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said will preside over the official opening of the FIH Hockey5s World Cup, hosted by the Sultanate of Oman from January 24th to 31st, 2024.
The prestigious opening ceremony will take place in the Sustainable City’s sales center in the Wilayat of Muttrah. Distinguished guests, including Royal family members, ministers, undersecretaries, and the President of the International Hockey Federation, Muhammad Tayyab Ikram, are expected to grace the event.
The tournament will feature the participation of 32 national teams, divided equally between male and female categories. Notable male teams such as Oman, the Netherlands, Pakistan, and Australia will compete alongside female teams including the Netherlands, Malaysia, Fiji, and Australia.
All the thrilling matches will unfold at the newly inaugurated Oman Hockey Stadium in the Wilayat of Al Amerat, Muscat. This state-of-the-art facility, constructed to International Hockey Federation specifications, boasts two main fields, several training fields, and other amenities.
During the competition period, the Oman Hockey Stadium will accommodate 5,000 spectators. Remarkably, these seats are designed for easy removal and reuse in other stadiums, reflecting a commitment to sustainability in sports infrastructure. The FIH Hockey5s World Cup promises to be a spectacular showcase of talent and sportsmanship on the global stage.
