‘Hidden Vault Vol 2: Still Life’ Showcases Masterpieces by Veteran Myanmar Artists in Yangon

Yangon, The Gulf Observer: A vibrant group art exhibition titled ‘Hidden Vault Vol 2: Still Life’ is currently on display at the Myanmar Ahla Art Gallery in Kyauktada Township, Yangon Region. The exhibition, which opened on 22 June, runs through 29 June, offering art enthusiasts a rare glimpse into the works of seven celebrated Myanmar painters.
Among the highlights are rare pieces by the late master artist Kin Maung Yin and renowned painter Mon Thet, whose contributions to Myanmar’s modern art scene continue to inspire generations.
Adding to the exhibition’s allure, veteran artist U Win Pe Myint will hold a live still-life painting demonstration at 11 a.m. on 23 June, welcoming fellow artists and art lovers to witness his creative process. For those unable to attend in person, the session will be livestreamed on the Myanmar Ahla Art Gallery’s official Facebook page.
The exhibition presents a diverse array of styles and mediums, featuring works by Kin Maung Yin, Win Pe Myint, Mon Thet, Ko Pyae, Shwe Thein, MT Aung, and Kin Maung Zaw. Each artist contributes a unique interpretation of the still-life genre, offering a collective celebration of form, texture, and imagination.
Organizers encourage the public to visit and engage with these treasured works, many of which are being publicly displayed for the first time in years. The event serves as a tribute to Myanmar’s enduring artistic legacy and the timeless beauty of still-life painting.
