His Majesty Sultan of Brunei Chairs Key Board Meetings of BLNG and BGC, Marking One Year of Leadership
Bandar Seri Begawan, The Gulf Observer: His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, on Tuesday chaired the 226th Board of Directors Meeting of Brunei LNG Sendirian Berhad (BLNG) and the 112th Board of Directors Meeting of Brunei Gas Carriers Sendirian Berhad (BGC) for the second quarter of 2025.
According to an official press release, the meetings coincided with the first anniversary of His Majesty’s assumption of the chairmanship of the Brunei Shell Joint Ventures (BSJV) and Brunei Gas Carriers (BGC) companies. The meetings were held at the Prime Minister’s Office building.
Upon arrival, His Majesty was received by Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II, Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, and Deputy Minister (Energy) at the Prime Minister’s Office, Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Mohamad Azmi bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, both of whom are members of the BLNG and BGC Board of Directors.
In a titah at the opening of the meeting, His Majesty highlighted the positive operational momentum being demonstrated across the BSJV and BGC companies, while emphasizing the need to maintain this trajectory for continued progress. His Majesty also urged the companies to remain resilient in the face of the evolving global energy landscape, underscoring the importance of strategic forward planning to ensure long-term agility and success.
Key areas discussed during the meetings included safety, operational performance, financial outcomes, and manpower development for both BLNG and BGC.
The proceedings began with the recitation of Doa and were attended by major stakeholders, including shareholder directors representing the Government of His Majesty, Shell plc, and Mitsubishi Corporation, alongside senior management representatives from BLNG and BGC.
Looking ahead, His Majesty is also scheduled to chair the 415th Board of Directors Meeting of Brunei Shell Petroleum Sdn Bhd (BSP) and the 193rd Board of Directors Meeting of Brunei Shell Marketing Sdn Bhd (BSM) for the second quarter of 2025 on Wednesday.
