Indonesia and Azerbaijan Enhance Cooperation in Public Service Acceleration
Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: Indonesia and Azerbaijan have agreed to enhance their cooperation in accelerating public service delivery, as announced by State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN RB) Minister Abdullah Azwar Anas on Monday.
According to a statement from Minister Anas, the agreement was formalized with the signing of the “Action Plan on the Acceleration of Public Services” during a meeting with representatives of the Azerbaijani State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations (VXSIDA).
Minister Anas outlined that under the two-year action plan, both nations will collaborate on various projects, including workshops, knowledge-sharing sessions, and initiatives aimed at improving public service implementation.
“The two countries will exchange notes on the steps they have taken to enhance the quality of their public services,” Anas stated. He highlighted that Indonesia and Azerbaijan have been cooperating in the public service sector since 2017, when Indonesia established public service malls (MPP) inspired by Azerbaijan’s ASAN Xidmt system, which has received UN recognition.
“Indonesia replicated this best practice by developing MPPs. Currently, there are 277 MPPs in Indonesia,” he said, adding that the Indonesian government is now developing digital MPPs to provide greater convenience in accessing public services.
Meanwhile, VXSIDA Chairperson Ulvi Mehdiyev praised Indonesia for its successful replication of ASAN Xidmt and noted the productive nature of the bilateral cooperation in the public service sector.
Mehdiyev expressed Azerbaijan’s eagerness to continue intensifying cooperation to support Indonesia in implementing digitization in the public service sector.
