Indonesia boosts food, beverage exports through FHA Food & Beverage 2023
Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: Indonesian Trade Attaché in Singapore along with the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore and Bank Indonesia promote food and beverage export products through participation in FHA Food & Beverage 2023 in Singapore to boost exports.
Indonesian Trade Attaché in Singapore Billy Anugrah stated that Indonesia should utilize the momentum of its economic recovery and demand in regions in an optimal manner, including for food and beverage products.
“This is done, so that food and beverage products play a central role in supporting our national export,” he noted through a statement, Tuesday.
Anugrah explained that in 2022, the Indonesian food and beverage industry clocked a growth of 4.93 percent. Food and beverage products became the biggest contributor to the non-oil and gas processing industry’s gross domestic product (GDP), with 38.35 percent.
Indonesian food and beverage product exports in 2022 experienced a relatively high increase, i.e., 17.6 percent, or US$44 billion.
Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore Suryo Pratomo stated that the involvement in FHA Food & Beverage 2023 in Singapore is intended to achieve higher export growth.
This participation specifically aims to improve the export of food and beverage products that became one of the backbones of the Indonesian industry.
The FHA Food & Beverage 2023 in Singapore is one of the biggest international food and beverage exhibitions in Asia, and buyers as well as food and beverage companies from across the world participate in it.
The exhibition is held on April 25-28, 2023, at Singapore Expo’s Hall 6.
This year, the Indonesia Pavilion features 14 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) that export food and beverage products.
While they are MSMEs in scale, the presented products are of international quality and standard, thereby making them competitive in the global market.
According to Pratomo, the participation of MSMEs in the FHA Food & Beverage 2023 also provides them access to the global market.
Various products offered at the Indonesia Pavilion, range from artisan snacks made from tempeh, a variety of foods made from cassava, to ready-to-drink jamu, or Indonesian traditional beverage, products.
