Indonesia Launches IndoBisa 2024 to Boost Startup Ecosystem
Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: The Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) has launched the IndoBisa 2024 program, a strategic initiative aimed at fostering the growth and development of startup companies in the tourism and creative economy sectors. This program serves as a crucial platform to connect local startups with investors, mentors, and other key stakeholders in the business ecosystem.
“We hope that IndoBisa can generate sustainable business startups,” stated Tourism and Creative Economy Minister and Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, Sandiaga Shalahudin Uno, in a press release issued by Kemenparekraf on Friday.
IndoBisa 2024 targets startup companies operating in various fields within the tourism and creative economy sectors, including gaming, applications, design and art, media, and entertainment. These sectors often require substantial funding and a supportive ecosystem to thrive and achieve sustainability.
Rizki Handayani, Deputy for Industry and Investment at Kemenparekraf, announced that the 2024 IndoBisa Open Call will be conducted online, in collaboration with startup communities across several regions, including Bandung, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, Semarang, Surakarta, Sumatra, Kalimantan, and Bali.
The program’s registration process will select 100 participants, who will then be shortlisted to the 30 best participants. “The top 30 will take part in a three-day hybrid Fundraising Bootcamp training,” Handayani explained.
IndoBisa 2024 will feature a series of activities designed to support startups, including fundraising, mentoring programs, and networking sessions with investors. Anggara Hayun Anujuprana, Director of Financing Access at Kemenparekraf, highlighted that this platform is crucial for startup companies in the tourism and creative economy sectors that require capital.
“After startups meet with venture capitalists, we want to build a sustainable startup ecosystem through matchmaking, thematic networking, and speed networking, which we hope to realize in 2024,” Anujuprana added.
The launch of IndoBisa 2024 underscores Kemenparekraf’s commitment to nurturing innovation and entrepreneurship within Indonesia’s dynamic tourism and creative economy sectors, ultimately contributing to the country’s economic growth and global competitiveness.
