Indonesia Set to Host Bali International Airshow 2024

Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: Indonesia is gearing up to host the Bali International Airshow (BIAS) 2024, scheduled to take place from September 18 to 21. Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, announced on Monday that preparations for the event are well underway, with a significant number of participants expected to attend.

“The preparations for the 2024 Bali International Airshow have gone well, and many people will participate,” Minister Pandjaitan stated during a press briefing. The event is anticipated to attract 6,000 attendees, including 100 stakeholders from the aviation sector, representing 35 countries, alongside government representatives and ministers from various nations.

BIAS 2024 will feature participation from leading global aerospace and defense companies, including Airbus, Bell Helicopters, Boeing, BrahMos, Dassault Aviation, Embraer, Garuda Indonesia, Leonardo, Lion Air, MBDA, PT DI, Textron Aviation, and Thales. The airshow serves as a platform for Indonesia to showcase its aerospace and air defense capabilities to the international community.

Minister Pandjaitan emphasized that BIAS 2024 presents a valuable opportunity to boost investment in Indonesia and foster collaboration among industry players. Additionally, the Indonesian government will use the event to launch its Sustainable Aviation Fuel Roadmap, a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing the country’s economy, ensuring energy security in the air transportation sector, and supporting Indonesia’s commitment to decarbonization.

“We will ensure added value for the country’s economy, maintain energy security in the air transportation sector, and contribute to Indonesia’s decarbonization commitment,” Pandjaitan said.

He also expressed gratitude to friendly nations participating in the flying display at BIAS, noting that Australia will showcase two F-35 fighter aircraft, while Germany will present the Airbus A400M aircraft.

In support of the event, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi affirmed that air transportation services in Bali would continue to operate smoothly during the airshow. The Bali International Airshow 2024 is expected to be a significant event for the aviation sector, contributing to Indonesia’s standing in the global aerospace industry.
