The decision to appoint Indonesia as the host country for the 2026 Queen Sirikit Cup was reached during a meeting of golf delegates from the Asia Pacific region held in New Zealand on Friday, March 22, confirmed Adi Saksono, Head of Championships and Achievements of PGI, in Jakarta on Saturday.

Saksono expressed gratitude for the trust placed in Indonesian golf by delegates throughout the Asia Pacific region, highlighting the leadership of PGI Chairman Japto Soelistyo Soerjosoemarno in steering Indonesian golf to greater heights.

The Queen Sirikit Cup golf championship is renowned as a prestigious team tournament in the Asia Pacific region, attracting top golfers from countries such as Indonesia, Australia, China, India, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, and New Zealand.

The most recent edition of the Queen Sirikit Cup championship took place in New Zealand from March 18 to 23, 2024, featuring competitive participation from golfers representing various nations.
