Indonesian Government Inspects Lombok’s Transportation Facilities for Christmas and New Year Travel
Lombok, The Gulf Observer: Deputy Minister of Transportation Suntana conducted an inspection of key transportation facilities in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara Province, to ensure readiness for the Christmas and New Year holidays.
According to a ministry statement released on Sunday, Suntana visited monitoring posts at major transportation hubs, including Zainuddin Abdul Madjid Lombok International Airport, the Mandalika Type A Terminal, and Lembar Port, a critical ferry crossing connecting Lombok and Bali.
“Our visit to Lombok aimed to ensure the readiness of transportation facilities and infrastructure during the upcoming Christmas and New Year holiday season,” Suntana stated.
During his visit to the Mandalika Type A Terminal, Suntana reviewed the ongoing terminal revitalization project and commended the improvements in service quality, which he affirmed were sufficient to meet public needs during the holiday period. “Passenger comfort and safety remain our top priorities,” he added.
Suntana also inspected the Lembar ASDP Ferry crossing port, highlighting its vital role in supporting holiday travel. He emphasized close coordination with operators to ensure timely departures and enhanced safety measures for passengers.
The Deputy Minister stressed the importance of proactive oversight and service quality improvements to manage the anticipated surge in passenger traffic, ensuring a smooth travel experience for all.
