Indonesian Hotels and Cities Win 14 ASEAN Tourism Awards in Laos
Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy announced that several Indonesian hotels, cities, and tourist destinations secured 14 ASEAN tourism awards during the 2024 ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) held in Vientiane, Laos.
The awards were presented in five prestigious categories by the Laotian government during the closing ceremony of the forum. Indonesia received recognition in four significant categories, namely the ASEAN Sustainable Tourism Award, ASEAN Clean Tourist City Award, ASEAN Green Hotel Award, and ASEAN MICE Venue Award.
In the category of ASEAN Sustainable Tourism Award, Ubud Gastronomy in Bali won in the rural category, while Singkong Village in Salatiga, Central Java, received the award in the urban category.
Surabaya in East Java and Balikpapan in East Kalimantan were honored with the ASEAN Clean Tourist City Award.
The ASEAN Green Hotel Award was presented to several Indonesian establishments, including Safari Resort in Bogor, West Java; Nihi Sumba in East Nusa Tenggara; 101 Bali Fontana in Seminyak, Bali; Capella Ubud in Bali; and Plataran Menjangan in Bali.
For the ASEAN MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) Venue Award, winners included JW Marriott Hotel in Jakarta (Dua Mutiara Ballroom), Ritz Carlton Hotel in Jakarta (The Ritz-Carlton Grand Ballroom), and El Royale Hotel in Bandung (The AmartaPura Grand Ballroom). In the exhibition venue category, the Jakarta International Expo Kemayoran (Hall A, B, C, D, B3, C3) and the Jakarta Convention Center were recognized.
These awards reflect the rich culture and diverse natural beauty of Indonesia, showcasing the country as a popular and esteemed tourist destination. The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy hopes that this recognition will contribute to the continued growth and development of Indonesia’s tourism industry.
