Indonesian VP Affirms Indonesia’s Commitment to Global Peace at 2024 Human Fraternity Majlis
Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: In a significant address before the delegates attending the 2024 Human Fraternity Majlis, Vice President Ma’ruf Amin of Indonesia underscored the nation’s unwavering dedication to contributing to global peace.
The event, marking the fifth anniversary of the Document on Human Fraternity, witnessed Vice President Amin’s emphasis on supporting initiatives aligned with the pursuit of global peace and justice.
Vice President Amin, recognizing the constitutional mandate and the essence embedded in Indonesia’s foreign policy, expressed the nation’s commitment to initiatives that foster peace and harmony on a worldwide scale. The 2024 Human Fraternity Majlis is being held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, commemorating the historic joint statement signed on February 4, 2019, by Pope Francis of the Catholic Church and Grand Imam Al-Azhar Ahmad Al Tayyeb.
Addressing the assembly, Vice President Amin highlighted the urgent need for global unity in overcoming challenges and emphasized the critical role of peace, humanity, and brotherhood in addressing the prevalent issues of conflicts, wars, and rivalry across the world. He called for a breakthrough to reignite the spirit of peace and brotherhood among nations.
“We hope that the awarding of the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity will be one of the breakthroughs,” Vice President Amin stated, referencing the prestigious award associated with the agenda.
The Indonesian government extended its appreciation to the Emirati authority and the organizing committee for hosting the 2024 Human Fraternity Majlis. Notable officials present during Vice President Amin’s address included Emirati Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Secretary General of the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity Hakim Mohamed Abdelsalam, members of the board of judges, and distinguished award recipients.
Vice President Amin’s remarks encapsulate Indonesia’s commitment to fostering a global environment of peace, cooperation, and shared humanity, in line with the principles outlined in the Document on Human Fraternity.
