Indonesia’s Presidential Secretariat Invites Public to Participate in Historic Parade of Sacred Red and White Flag

Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: The Presidential Secretariat of Indonesia has called on citizens to participate in the Parade of the Sacred Red and White Flag, along with the Proclamation Text, as they embark on a journey from Jakarta to the Nusantara Capital City. The parade, which is a significant part of the Independence Day celebrations, is set to commence on Saturday, August 10.
Head of the Presidential Secretariat, Heru Budi Hartono, announced on Friday that the parade will begin at the National Monument (Monas) in Central Jakarta. From there, the participants will proceed to Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, where they will take a flight to Nusantara, located in East Kalimantan.
The highlight of the event will be the raising of the national flag during the Independence Day ceremony on August 17, marking the first time this ceremony will take place in the new capital city.
Heru Budi Hartono emphasized that the parade is not merely symbolic; it serves as a tribute to the national flag, a revered symbol of Indonesia’s struggle and sovereignty. The event is designed to remind the people of the nation’s history and the tremendous effort that led to Indonesia’s independence.
President Joko Widodo is set to lead the Independence Day ceremony in Nusantara, while Vice President Ma’ruf Amin will preside over the parallel ceremony in Jakarta.
This historic event underscores the significance of the national flag and the enduring spirit of Indonesia’s independence, inviting all citizens to reflect on and celebrate their nation’s proud history.
