International Conference in Muscat Addresses Airline Accident Victim Support
Muscat, The Gulf Observer: Today, in Muscat, an esteemed international conference titled “Helping Victims of Airline Accidents and their Families” commenced with dignified deliberation.
Organized by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology in collaboration with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the two-day event has drawn the participation of 200 eminent experts specializing in aviation safety.
Under the distinguished patronage of Dr. Hilal Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health, the opening ceremony set a tone of earnest engagement in addressing crucial matters concerning aviation safety and support systems for those affected by air accidents.
The primary objective of the conference is to impart enlightenment to concerned organizations regarding the stringent standards mandated by the ICAO for serving victims of aircraft accidents and their families. Moreover, it seeks to delineate the obligations incumbent upon member states and airline entities while emphasizing the pivotal role of the aviation sector within the Sultanate of Oman.
The inaugural day’s agenda encompassed a comprehensive exploration of diverse topics, notably the practical applications of ICAO air safety standards and the attendant responsibilities of member states in the aftermath of air accidents.
As the conference progresses, it is anticipated to foster insightful discourse, laying a foundation for enhanced collaboration and proactive measures in ensuring the safety and well-being of air travelers worldwide.
